ETC Simulation Unveils New Active Shooter Virtual Training Scenario for Schools

New Active Shooter Virtual Training Scenario for Schools

SOUTHAMPTON, PA, USA, January 5, 2016 – Environmental Tectonics Corporation`s (OTC Pink: ETCC) (“ETC” or the “Company”) Simulation Division (“ETC Simulation”), located in Orlando, Fla., has unveiled an active shooter scenario for the Advanced Disaster Management Simulator (“ADMS”). The new scenario is designed to prepare teachers, administrators, and first responders how to best prepare for and respond to these evolving threats.

The four story school features over 900 students, 26 classrooms, and 33 school administrators in addition to a cafeteria, gym, auditorium, and lunchroom. Users can be trained on a variety of objectives including lockdown procedures, testing crisis preparedness, and carrying out response training. Additional injects including multiple active shooters, explosive devices, and hazardous materials can be added to the scenario using the SmartModel(TM) Library of objects. The neighboring environment features multiple response staging areas, residential neighborhoods, and roadways that can be navigated.

“We at ETC aim to provide the most relevant training tools available to our ADMS user community and the development of this new school shooter scenario was motivated by their input.”, said Lori Bozenbury, Director of Business Development for ETC Simulation. “Planning for, training, and exercising a coordinated response to such a critical incident is vital to the effective mitigation of it. Our hope is that school administrators, law enforcement, and all response agencies can train with ADMS in an effort to increase their response capabilities to this growing threat.”

ADMS is a virtual reality simulation training platform designed to prepare incident commanders, command teams, and emergency operations staff worldwide for any natural or manmade disasters. With its signature True Simulation technology that blends artificial intelligence, physics-based simulation, and photo-realistic graphics, ADMS training provides an economical, safe, and environmentally friendly platform for first responders and emergency managers.
