ETC’s NASTAR Center Announces the 2011 Space Program Schedule
Southampton, PA, February 1, 2011 — Environmental Tectonics Corporations (OTC Bulletin Board: ETCC) (“ETC” or the “Company”) NASTAR® Center, the premier commercial aerospace training and research center in the world, announces its 2011 Schedule of Space Training and Educational courses for the year. Over 200 people and 460 simulated space flights are expected. Courses featured include: Space Pilot, Spaceflight Participant, Suborbital Scientist, Teacher Workshop, and Summer Camp. Programs scheduled to commence this March.
The National Aerospace Training and Research Center, located just outside Philadelphia, PA, has been in operation since 2007 and is the only company approved by the Federal Aviation Administration’s Office of Commercial Space Transportation (FAA AST) to provide Spaceflight Training to the general public.
NASTAR Center’s Space Programs provide a continuum of space education from grades 4 to professional Space Pilot. Students, Teachers, Researchers, and Space Participants have been among the trainees taught at NASTAR Center.
NASTAR Center Space Training and Educational Programs
NASTAR Space Pilot — Provides experience in nominal and off-nominal (emergency) situations to increase proficiency and preparedness. Features: high-G loads, situational awareness, egress, and other relevant space training factors. Call for dates.
NASTAR Suborbital Scientist — Prepares researchers, scientists, and graduate students to effectively design, fly, and accompany suborbital payloads. Features: altitude chamber training, distraction management exercises, G-tolerance and testing in intense high-G and vibration environments. Dates: 3/14-16, 5/9-11, 9/12-14, 11/14-16.
NASTAR Spaceflight Participant — Comprehensive course for anyone interested to ‘see what it takes’ to go to space. Features: Fundamentals of space flight, G-tolerance, spaceflight training, countermeasure application and technique, and pre/post stress management. Dates: 3/17-18, 3/21/22.
NASTAR Teacher Workshop — “Experiencing Newton’s Laws of Motion” equips educators with hands-on activities that can be used with students. Features: 3-G space flight experience, educational resources, and is approved by the PA Department of Education for Act 48 hours. Dates: 7/7-8, 8/8-9, 8/11-12, 8/15-16, 8/18-19
NASTAR Camp — Provides hands-on activities, crafts, and learning for 4th-8th graders. Features: Lessons on Newton’s Laws of Motion, forces of flight, rockets, weather, and more combined with take-home projects built by the students. Dates: 6/27-7/1, 7/11-15, 7/18-22, 7/25-29, 8/1-5.
